Canada’s Goose?

So why are these Geese called the Canadian Goose since they spend most of their time in the U.S. o f A? In the world of the name game, most Geese with a black head and neck, white patches on the face, and a brownish-gray body are born in Canada. So hence this “Cackling Goose” or whatever is labelled the “Canada Goose”. Normal migration without borders guards or duties is from the south to the north, or SE to NW.

Since a goose does it’s business every six minutes they are considered to be a pest in many locations, so why not blame Canada!

These photo’s are of young geese born in Canada, preparing for the long trip south. One important procedure for these newbies is to defoliate their baby feather’s as well as firming up and showing off their muscles! Since they do mate for life, many of these teenagers will all ready have an eye on their Goosette.

The Canada Goose migrates at night. They are monogamous, and most couples stay together all of their lives.
