Signs of Spring everywhere – and the sight of the first robin is always reason for celebration. This is good news.
I haven’t seen any robins to date in the Edmonton area, but the geese have been wending their way northward for the last two weeks, with diminishing snow banks and open water everywhere inviting them back to their summer home. Soon the path around the local Fish and Game Pond will be a landmine of untold grief for unwary cyclists and oblivious brisk walkers.
Too bad that we have to wait for day time highs above the zero (Celsius) mark until the end of the week. Unseasonably chilly here during the last week, after a couple of weeks of temps ranging in the mid-teens. At least the sun doesn’t set until a few minutes before 8:00 PM. Soon the first crocus will be blooming, and that is Good News indeed!
