8 Nations will fight against other nations. Kingdoms will fight against other kingdoms. There will be times when there is no food for people to eat. And there will be earthquakes in different places. These things are only the beginning of troubles, like the first pains of a woman giving birth.

In Mark chapter 13, Jesus speaks about the signs of the end times and the destruction of the temple in Jerusalem. He warns his disciples about the trials and tribulations that will occur before the end. These include nations and kingdoms rising against each other, earthquakes in various places, and famines. Jesus refers to these troubles as the “beginning of the birth pains,” indicating that they are just the start. The context highlights the brokenness of the world and the need for believers to remain prepared and trust in God’s sovereignty during challenging times.
