I share daily inspiration with a personal photo and meaningful Bible verses that embrace the beauty of God’s creation and let the stunning landscapes remind you of God’s presence in our lives. Each post can include several Bible verses illuminating different facets of biblical significance, accompanied by a beautiful image representing God’s presence in nature and our lives. The verses and imagery create a deep, uplifting experience that awakens our spirits and strengthens our bond with God and Jesus Christ.

The tree’s roots, frozen in time, create a beautiful display of pattern and texture. This reminds us of the passage of time and the cycle of life, connecting to the experience of Holy Saturday. Like the tree’s roots hold potential for new life, Easter Sunday promises new beginnings and hope. The setting of the Smith Inlet Estuary in British Columbia adds depth to the contemplative mood in the photograph.

“Well this is exactly what happened on Holy Saturday, the voice of God resounded in the realm of death. The unimaginable occurred; namely, love penetrated Hell. Something strange is happening – there is a great silence on earth today, a great silence and stillness.,”

On Holy Saturday, Christians worldwide contemplate the quiet and solemn period between the crucifixion of Jesus on Good Friday and his resurrection on Easter Sunday. It is a time of reflection, mourning, and expectancy as believers await the fulfillment of God’s promises.

Matthew 27: 62-66 (ERV)
62 That day was the day called Preparation day. The next day, the leading priests and the Pharisees went to Pilate. 63 They said, “Sir, we remember that while that liar was still alive he said, ‘I will rise from death in three days.’ 64 So give the order for the tomb to be guarded well for three days. His followers might come and try to steal the body. Then they could tell everyone that he has risen from death. That lie will be even worse than what they said about him before.” 65 Pilate said, “Take some soldiers and go guard the tomb the best way you know.” 66 So they all went to the tomb and made it safe from thieves. They did this by sealing the stone in the entrance and putting soldiers there to guard it.
The context is set after the crucifixion of Jesus. The religious leaders heard about Jesus’ prophecy of rising again after three days. So, they went to Pilate to request that the tomb be secured until the third day, fearing that Jesus’ disciples might steal the body and claim that He had risen. Pilate permitted them to make the tomb as secure as they knew how, so they sealed the stone and stationed guards to ensure that no one could access the body. This context sets the stage for the events that unfold in the following chapters of Matthew.

As Holy Saturday draws close, we are reminded of the profound stillness that enveloped the world while Christ lay in the tomb. It is a day of anticipation and transition, symbolizing the time between death and new life, and the fulfillment of God’s redemptive plan. In the midst of this solemn observance, we hold onto the promise of resurrection and the hope of eternal salvation.
