Where you go after death is determined by where you went in life.

Life After Death: A Biblical Perspective

Life after death is a concept that has intrigued humanity for centuries. The Bible, a source of wisdom and comfort for millions, provides insight into the afterlife through various verses. These verses offer guidance, assurance, and hope to those seeking to understand what comes after this earthly life.

1. John 11:25-26 (ERV)
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me will have life even if they die. And everyone who lives and believes in me will never die.”

Context: In John 11:25-26, Jesus comforts Martha and affirms that belief in Him ensures eternal life even after physical death. It’s a powerful reminder of the hope Christians hold dear.

2. 1 Thessalonians 4:14 (ERV)
We believe that Jesus died and that he rose again. So, because of him, God will raise to be with Jesus those who have died.

Context: The verse from 1 Thessalonians 4:14 reassures believers that those who have died in Christ will be raised to be with Him, reinforcing the promise of life after death.

3. Revelation 21:4 (ERV)
He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death, sadness, crying, or pain. All the old ways are gone.

Context: Revelation 21:4 depicts a comforting image of the afterlife, where God alleviates the suffering and pain that exist in this world, affirming the idea of a peaceful existence beyond death.

4. 2 Corinthians 5:8 (ERV)
We are sure that we would rather be away from this body and be at home with the Lord.

Context 2 Corinthians 5:8 speaks of the longing to be with the Lord after departing from the physical body, portraying a yearning for the spiritual home that awaits believers.

5. Philippians 1:21-23 (ERV)
To live means to live for Christ, and dying is even better. But if I continue living, I will be able to do more work for Christ. So I really don’t know which one is better.

Context: In Philippians 1:21-23, Paul expresses the dilemma between the desire to continue living for the sake of Christ and the recognition that departing to be with Him is far superior, highlighting the believer’s anticipation of the afterlife.

6. 1 Corinthians 15:54 (ERV)
And when this body that can be destroyed has been changed into a body that cannot be destroyed, and this body that dies has been changed into a body that will live forever, then it will happen as the Scriptures say: “Death is swallowed in victory.”

Context: 1 Corinthians 15:54 illustrates the transformation from mortal to immortal, affirming that believers will inherit imperishable and eternal bodies, marking the triumph over death through Christ.

7. 1 John 5:11 (ERV)
This is what God told us: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

Context: 1 John 5:11 succinctly conveys the essence of eternal life, emphasizing that this life is bestowed by God through His Son, Jesus Christ.

In conclusion, the concept of life after death is a central theme in the Bible, offering believers hope and assurance of an eternal existence with God. These verses from the Easy-to-Read Version provide comfort and guidance, portraying a vivid picture of the afterlife as a place free from pain and filled with the presence of the Lord. As we contemplate these verses, we are reminded of the profound promise of life after death, a hope that transcends the temporal nature of our earthly lives and sustains us with the prospect of a joyous and everlasting future with our Creator.

Hello and Welcome! My name is Jack, I live in Alberta, Canada and I post photo’s that I have taken along the way. I have added-on a "Bible Quote" to pique the interest of each post. As an ametuer photographer I am fortunate to live in a place and in the middle of two beautiful provinces of Canada, where photo op’s are abundant and the scenery of God's Nature makes you awestruck. A place for which, it is a sin to ever leave home without a camera! I have named my web site with a "WINDOW " because you get what I see and you are really viewing the wonders of God's beautiful nature! Discover it! I welcome feedback and questions! Enjoy! Jack
