Goodness
38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.
In the book of Acts, verse 10:38 describes how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit. He was also anointed with power. This moment marks a pivotal turning point where Jesus begins His ministry, bringing hope and healing to those in need. The power of the Holy Spirit in Jesus’ life shows the divine connection between God and His Son. This connection emphasizes that the good works He performed were based on divine authority. For the early Christians, this was a powerful message of reassurance that Jesus’ actions directly expressed God’s love and mercy.
Understanding this verse today can encourage us to reflect on the presence of the Holy Spirit in our own lives. Jesus was empowered to do good. He healed those oppressed. We, too, can seek guidance and strength from the Holy Spirit. This will help us bring positive change in our communities. The verse invites us to consider how we can be instruments of peace and healing. It encourages us to share kindness and compassion with others in our everyday actions.
Moreover, this verse reminds us that we are never alone in our struggles. The same power that enabled Jesus to carry out miracles is available through faith. Whether facing personal challenges or seeking ways to help others, we can draw on this divine support. It provides the courage and wisdom needed to make a difference. This connection offers a profound sense of purpose, encouraging us to live with integrity and love in all we do.
