Romans 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

The Broken World We Live In and Why Faith Matters: Finding a Guiding Light in a Chaotic World Can Seem Overwhelming. Navigating through such a world requires resilience. It feels unforgiving. It feels impossible. But even in the darkest times, there is a path to peace and purpose. Your journey of faith is a deeply personal and unique narrative. Mine stands as a testament to the transformative power of embracing the divine presence of Jesus Christ. Tiny seeds of spirituality were sown during my childhood. These seeds blossomed into a profound awakening much later in life. What comes next? Think about my spiritual journey. It ignites your faith as well. The teachings of Jesus Christ have been a guiding beacon for me. They emphasize the importance of discipline and highlight the necessity of determination. They stress the relentless pursuit of both success and spiritual enlightenment.
In this fractured world, where chaos and confusion reign, we often accept turmoil as the norm. We live in an era marked by evil, haste, and ongoing global decline. Our governments are rife with corruption, foreshadowing dark times ahead, a scenario well-prophesied in the Bible. To me, accepting Christ is the only thing that truly makes sense! The Scriptures teach us about love, and God abhors sin. This alone should be enough to persuade anyone to follow Christ, for our future looks bleak without Him. God has long ago chosen those who will get eternal life; all we have to do is accept it. We are saved through God’s grace; faith is the only condition. Our deeds alone will not get us there, nor do they hold any ultimate significance. God will draw you to Jesus; when that happens, you will accept Him as your Lord and Saviour. You will repent of your sins and adhere to the requirements for your salvation. To be a true Believer, you must have unwavering belief!
The First Spark of Faith in My Youth: My faith journey began around the age of 10 or 11. In the late evenings, my mother, a light sleeper, would immerse herself in Bible study. She was burdened with the daily chores of raising four children. She managed to be a wife and her career as a music teacher. I saw her unwavering devotion. I would often climb out of bed to join her. I soaked up the verses she explained. Her primary interest lay in the prophecies scattered throughout the scriptures. Though these teachings were frightening and fascinating, they ignited a deep curiosity, drawing me back for more. Despite my youth and the complexity of the topic, a seed of faith was planted in me. As a preteen, I attended a local Bible camp for several summers, further nurturing these seeds of faith. My sister was another influence. She was drawn to Jesus in her mid-teens. She married a steadfast Christian man and raised an awesome family.
The Long Dormant Period and God’s Unwavering Patience: Life unfolded. I grew up, moved to the biggest city in the province, got married, and had two wonderful children. Along the way, I found fantastic friends. I found a steady occupation. It kept me working as a tax consultant for over 50 years. I was fortunate to get involved in the oil business as a sideline. The demands and distractions of adulthood often distracted me from those early teachings. Life’s relentless pace overshadowed the tender seeds of faith. Responsibilities weighed heavily. My mother’s late-night Bible studies planted these seeds. Although my faith was not at its peak—lukewarm—I continually received blessings from God.
In 2001, my twin brother, Jim, succumbed to cancer and passed away, leaving a profound void in my life. Amid my grief, an unbelievable calm settled within me, as if to say, “All will be OK.” This feeling was something I struggled to comprehend. I knew Jim believed in Jesus Christ and heard him say it. His strength and conviction inspired me, reminding me that love transcends the boundaries of life and death. Life goes on, and I miss him dearly every day. I carry his spirit with me, cherishing the memories we made together, which guide me through my darkest moments.
For over 60 years, my faith lay dormant, yet God’s patience never faded. I took my time to fully embrace my faith, but His support was constant. He helped me through life’s challenges. The beauty of faith is its ability to endure. It waits for the right time to grow. My journey has shown that even if faith weakens, it never completely disappears. God’s gentle guidance was always there, even when I didn’t notice it. Each year, it reminded me that faith, though inactive, was still alive and ready to be awakened.
The Transformational Moment at Age 70: At the age of 70, my life underwent a significant transformation. After being spiritually inactive for years, I felt God’s call, which sparked a renewed sense of faith. This wasn’t just an awakening; it changed my purpose and direction. Everything became clearer—Jesus Christ’s teachings resonated with me more than ever. I became a believer and a devoted disciple, fully embracing His teachings. Now I am older. My joints are stiff. It makes it harder for me to join in the physical activities I once enjoyed. I get out and about less. Despite these challenges, my faith continues to guide me. It reminds me that spirituality transcends physical limitations. It urges me to stay active in my contributions.
Spreading Faith and Inspiration: My mission is to share my faith in a way that feels heartfelt. I achieve this by creating weekly articles that delve into biblical themes and topics, designed for thoughtful Bible study. My website is a space where I can grow in my understanding while also encouraging others on their spiritual journeys. Through meaningful visuals and Scripture, I aim to inspire moments of reflection, gratitude, and appreciation. I focus on the beauty of nature and the works of God.
Reading the Bible from beginning to end in 420 days was a transformative experience. It gave me a deeper appreciation of Scripture. To further expand my knowledge, I studied online at the Israel Bible Center. There, I earned Certificates of Achievement in Jewish Culture and Context. I also earned a Certificate in the Jewish New Testament and the Hebrew Bible. These opportunities have enriched my perspective. They have set me on a purposeful path. This path continues to shape and inspire me every day.
Encouragement for Aspiring Believers: Taking the first steps toward faith can be challenging, but it’s a rewarding journey. Remember that faith provides hope and love if you feel lost in a complex world. Embracing Jesus as your Lord and Saviour goes beyond just belief. It leads to real change. This change gives you clarity and purpose. God’s love is limitless and welcomes you as you are. It’s normal to have doubts; faith is a personal journey that differs for everyone. Open your heart, take small steps, and let the Bible’s teachings guide you.
You are not obligated to listen to or follow what I do, but I feel compelled to share it. Like in Noah’s time, wickedness has spread across the earth. It permeates every corner of society, leading people astray from righteousness. Only Noah and his family were saved. They emerged as the sole survivors in a world that chose to ignore the warnings. His story serves as a solemn reminder of the importance of heeding warnings and the profound consequences of our choices.
To close, I readily accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as my Saviour. This pivotal decision has enabled me to navigate life’s challenges with greater ease and grace. I know I am never alone in my struggles and triumphs. Each day, I feel a deeper connection to Christ. This connection motivates me to spread love and kindness to those around me. We all face moments of doubt about our purpose or impact. Embracing acts of kindness and inspiration reveals the significance of spiritual teachings. By staying committed to these principles and my mother’s wisdom daily, I find fulfillment and share positivity with others.
Isaiah 55:6-7 (ESV) “Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near; let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
