Proverbs 16:18 – “Pride goes before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall.“
Context: This verse highlights the consequences of pride, warning that it paves the way for destruction and downfall.

Proverbs 11:2 – “Pride leads only to shame; it is wise to be humble.”
Context: Here, the verse emphasizes the eventual shame that results from pride, contrasting it with the wisdom found in humility.

Proverbs 16:5 – “The Lord detests those who are proud; they will surely be punished.”
Context: This verse reveals God’s stance on pride, expressing his detestation for the proud and the forthcoming punishment they will face.

James 4:6 – “But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: ‘God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.'”
Context: This verse conveys the contrast between God’s opposition to the proud and his favor towards the humble.

1 John 2:16 – “For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world.”
